How billing works

You don't pay until you've seen it working

  1. Tell us the problem — free

A call or a rough idea is enough. You do not need to arrive with a specification.

  2. See a prototype — free

We prepare one clickable prototype and include one feedback round. The prototype remains ours unless the engagement proceeds.

  3. Approve the scope

If the direction is right, we confirm a fixed scope and price in days. Billing begins only after you approve that scope.

  4. Watch it get built

You get daily progress you can review. Custom deliverables transfer after final payment, subject to our Terms.

We bill product, design and engineering days only. One prototype and one feedback round are included before scope approval. Work, payment, handover, refunds and warranty remain governed by the Terms of Service.

Pricing

One rate.

200
CAD per day, per AI Product Engineer. That's the whole pricing model.
2
days to a finished website. Five to a working CRM.
100%
of your custom project deliverables transfer after final payment, subject to our Terms.

No retainers. No lock-in. No “discovery phase” invoice before anything gets built.

Roughly what will it cost?

What are you building?

The honest version

You could build this yourself. Honestly.

Lovable, Bolt, Replit and Cursor are genuinely good now. Given a focused week, you could probably get a useful demo working. We use modern tools for the same reason: they make careful builders faster.

The hard part is finding that focused week between client work and everything else. A promising afternoon becomes an unfinished month, and the tab stays open.

A demo is not the finished work. Production also means deployment, DNS, email deliverability, security headers, backups, rate limiting, store review where needed, and knowing how the system behaves when real people use it.

You're paying for the week you don't have—and for a team that carries the production details through to handover.

Ownership

Own the useful parts

Practice management, scheduling, intake, e-signature, document generation and CRM subscriptions add up. Often, several tools each do part of the job while a spreadsheet holds the workflow together.

Custom software is not automatically cheaper, and it still depends on hosting and third-party services. Its advantage is different: the approved custom deliverables can match your workflow and transfer to you after final payment.

FAQ

Questions people actually ask

Why is this so much cheaper than an agency?

We keep the delivery team small, use modern AI-assisted tools where they genuinely save time, and price the build days instead of adding layers of account management.

Is AI writing all of it?

AI can accelerate boilerplate, tests and review. People still decide what to build, evaluate the output, handle production details and take responsibility for the result.

What does "a day" actually mean?

One engineer working one standard business day, Monday to Friday. An accepted fixed quote does not increase because we underestimated the approved scope.

What if I don't like the prototype?

You owe us nothing for the included prototype and feedback round. The prototype remains Kollabit property unless you proceed with the engagement.

Do I own the code?

Custom project deliverables transfer after final payment, subject to our Terms. Pre-existing Kollabit materials and third-party tools remain under their existing ownership or licences.

What if something breaks after launch?

If an in-scope deliverable is defective, we fix it without charge when reported within 14 days after delivery. Later fixes and new scope use the same day rate.

Who owns my data?

You retain ownership of your data. If Canadian data residency is required, tell us before work begins so the project can be scoped around that requirement.

Can you work with my existing website or system?

Usually. We assess whether extending, rebuilding or migrating is the safer and more economical route before confirming scope.

How fast can you start?

Availability varies with the active build queue. We confirm a start date with the final scope rather than promising one before review.

What if I need changes later?

Return for another scoped block at the same day rate, or give the transferred project deliverables to another developer.

Do you charge tax?

Applicable GST/HST is additional. Estimates on this page are shown before tax.

Is $200/day per person or for the whole team?

It is per engineer, per working day. The estimator shows total engineer-days, so its total already represents the priced effort.
